SG PropTalk now tweets... again!

- September 3, 2014 No Comments

The wife and I had gotten ourselves a twitter account since 2012 but we were never very diligent about it.

However, our housing minister has inspired us to post a tweet tonight. So we are trying to "get the bird chirping" again and more regularly this time around.

Please follow our twitter feeds on @SG_PropTalk .

Our very first collaboration with PropertyGuru!

- August 8, 2014 2 Comments

The good folks at The PropertyGuru have decided to publish one of our recent article in their fortnightly newspaper which hit the streets today.

The collaboration represents the first time since the inception of SG Proptalk that we have been featured outside of the internet realm. Now that we have finally "come out", will this lead to more magazine/newspaper editors knocking at our door? The wife and I can always hope!

The PropertyGuru newspaper is Singapore's only property dedicated newspaper distributed on a complimentary basis. New issue of the newspaper is published fortnightly and available on Friday at various locations including downtown and suburban shopping belts, selected MRT vicinities and most petrol kiosks islandwide.

So do pick up your free copy from today!

Our "proposition" to Developers and Marketing Agents...

- July 13, 2014 3 Comments

The wife and I have been toying with the idea of resuming our reviews on new residential property launches. However, one of the TWO main reasons why we have stopped visiting showflats in the first place (other than the fact that we had been rather busy over the past year) is the lack of access. As taking photos of the show units is generally frowned upon by the developers, it was becoming quite a chore playing "cat and mouse" with the security personnel at the showflats. And the embarrassment resulting from their going berserk whenever we were "caught" snapping a picture was no longer fun.

So, here goes nothing...

The wife and I wish to give a shout-out to all Developers and Marketing Agents out there: Please give us an hour (or two) of access to your showflat for any upcoming new property launch. And by "access", we mean freedom to walk around the show units and take as many pictures as we need to.  Better yet if a representative can show us around and answer our questions about the project and show units. But at the very least please ask your Security to leave us alone to go about our business - we promise not to steal anything.

In return, the wife and I will reciprocate with an unbiased review of the project. You may not necessarily concur with everything we say, but we promise to be honest and true in terms of our "likes" and "dislikes".

Sounds fair? Do give us a shout back on our email at  proptalk@live.com.sg  if the above proposition tickles your fancy.

The wife and I are all prepared to have eggs on our faces and zero response. But as the saying goes: "If you don't try, you won't know!".

So we'll see *fingers crossed but not holding our breaths* .....

Slight case of Identity Crisis...

- July 9, 2014 No Comments

While responding to requests for details of our renovation contractor, we suddenly realised that we have been using  "The Folks @PropTalk"  and  "The Folks @SG PropTalk"  interchangeably in our correspondences. This is probably a tad confusing (or did anyone notice?).

So let it be known from this day forward, the wife and I shall stick to
The Folks @SG PropTalk

Have a great day ahead, everyone!

We are on bloglovin' !

- July 3, 2014 No Comments

The wife and I (more the "I" actually) have the habit of "googling" ourselves (i.e. SG PropTalk) every once in awhile, just to see if we have unknowingly put our foot in our mouths (again), so much so that we should be packing our bags and go hide.

Imagine our surprise when we found ourselves on   a website that helps you keep track of the blogs you read by letting you know when they update.

bloglovin' featured articles from our blog in a format similar to what Pinterest does. But unlike the later, we do not have to consciously "pin" our new posts before anyone can view it. bloglovin' just automatically updates itself!

The wife and I were so impressed with bloglovin' that we actually signed up to follow our own blog!

But don't take our words for it, have a look for yourselves...

A million thanks!

Three and a quarter years and over 900 blog posts later, SG PropTalk has finally hit the one- million visitors mark. Although the number is small change compared to say, sgCarMart, which reportedly gets over 6.3 million hits a day, the wife and I are rather thrilled by this little milestone that we have archieved.

Without sounding cliched, we are really thankful for the support and participation from our readers since the inception of SG PropTalk. It may take us another 3 years (assuming we make it that far) but the wife and I are eagerly looking forward to the "birth" of  our 2,000,000th visitor!
